The Role of Meditation in Brazilian jiu jitsu

When people think of Brazilian jiu jitsu, the first thing that comes to mind is some awesome smack down fighting. While this is true, there is so much more to it. For instance, many would be surprised to know that mediation is a significant part of Brazilian jiu jitsu training.

Meditation is one of the greatest ways to program and condition the mind. As your mind becomes programmed the chances of you becoming a better fighter increase drastically. You will be a better fighter overall; especially when it comes to executing the techniques you have learned physically. Mediating also helps to calm the mind. Being calm is vital to the practice of Brazilian jiu jitsu and every other form of martial arts. One should never step up to a battle without first calming their mind and centering their emotions. Doing so is a sure fire way to be on the losing end of the fight and this is why mediation is such a crucial part of Brazilian jiu jitsu.
